About Trinity Baptist College

Trinity Baptist College was founded in 1974 by Trinity Baptist Church for the purpose of preparing people for ministry while maintaining a close relationship with a functioning local church. The church had a burden for education and recognized this opportunity as an effective way to impact the community and train students for ministry and missions. TBC relocated from McDuff Avenue to its current campus on Hammond Blvd in 1988. Under the leadership of Dr. Shoemaker, the college became accredited in 1997.

Mission Statement

TBC’s mission is to prepare Christian men and women for life and ministry by providing students with higher education from a Christian worldview. For over 40 years, Trinity has offered education in biblical studies to prepare students for full-time ministry. In recent years, Trinity has expanded to offer both general and professional studies, liberal arts degree programs, and graduate studies. Trinity Baptist College’s unique relationship with Trinity Baptist Church and Trinity Christian Academy provides students with opportunities for internships and real-world, field-specific experience as part of our “Learn and Serve” philosophy.
