Information for Students
By enrolling in Tuition Rewards, students will earn guaranteed minimum scholarships at over 440 participating private colleges and universities across America! The scholarships can equal up to one full year's tuition!
Each Tuition Rewards Point is equal to $1.00 in tuition discounts if the student attends a participating college or university. The accumulated points represent the minimum scholarship (grant or other institutional discount) that the student will receive.
“SAGE Scholars is there to help me pursue my future goals…”
“The SAGE Scholars program has meant a lot to me for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my parents were always very excited to see how my SAGE Scholars account was growing. I am the oldest of six children in my family. Knowing that SAGE Scholars is there to help me pursue my future goals has definitely helped ease some of my family’s financial burden”
Tuition Reward Points accrue like frequent flyer miles and are typically earned by saving or investing with affiliated financial institutions - or simply by being employed by one of over 135,000 employers nationwide that offer Tuition Rewards. Financial products include 529 plans, banks, brokerage firms, credit unions, mutual funds and diverse financial service companies involved in cash-value insurance products, retirement plans and other instruments. What makes Tuition Rewards even more unique is that you don't have to use the investment earning Reward Points to pay for college! How you pay for college is your choice.
35,000 Tuition Rewards Points represent a guaranteed minimum $35,000 scholarship at our member colleges. You may receive more, but you cannot receive less!
Tuition Rewards are NOT awarded in cash. If all requirements have been met, and the student's Rewards were submitted within 10 days of application, you are guaranteeing that the student will be awarded scholarships, grants, or other awards at least equal to the amount of points submitted (1 point = $1, up to the college's stated maximum), divided equally over a projected four (4) years* of undergraduate education.
For example, a student with 20,000 points - having met the deadlines - would be guaranteed to receive no less than $5,000 in total scholarships, grants or other discounts, provided by the college or university, for each of the four years* he or she would attend. Should the student qualify for more than is guaranteed by the Tuition Rewards, the student will receive the higher amount but cannot receive less.
The financial aid award letter may not specifically identify "Tuition Rewards". Colleges reserve the right to privately label Tuition Rewards Points as their own award. As long as the college award equals or exceeds the student's submitted Tuition Rewards Points the college has met its obligation.
* can be divided equally over five (5) years if student is enrolled in a co-op program.
