High Point University, whose campus "Innovators in Residence" have included such entrepreneurial luminaries as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, has joined the SAGE Scholars Tuition Rewards program. 20 North Carolina colleges and 46 Methodist colleges now participate in the largest U.S. private college enrollment consortium.
Focused on developing life skills and fun, High Point stresses career shadowing opportunities, experiential learning, internships, service learning, study-abroad experiences, time management, and undergraduate research alongside faculty members, who are known for "great industry knowledge". 97% of HPU graduates are employed or continuing their education within 6 months of graduation.
In recent years, the University has invested $2 billion dollars in academic programs and student life facilities. Niche currently ranks the dorms as the third-best on a U.S. campus (out of 1,419 colleges). The campus, which includes an arboretum and 25 botanical gardens, attracts nearly 80% of students from out-of-state - all 50 states and nearly 50 countries. Communications, business, exercise sciences and kinesiology, and biology are the most popular majors.
High Point is the 77th participating private college to be listed in The Princeton Review's 2021 edition of "The Best 386 Colleges".
