University of Charleston Joins Tuition Rewards

Founded in 1888, Charleston is nationally recognized for its outcomes-based "Learning Your Way" curriculum, which embeds Critical Thinking, Communication, Citizenship, Creativity, Ethical Practice and Inquiry into courses in each major. One of 12 U.S. colleges chosen as a model for the first-year student experience, UC offers a 14:1 student/faculty ratio; 65% of classes feature fewer than 20 students. Biology, business, education, nursing and pre-med / pre-pharmacy are the most popular majors.
The UC campus is located on the banks of the Kanawha River, with a panoramic view of the state Capitol building as a dramatic backdrop. Seven of the 11 campus buildings have been constructed since 1998; construction of the $16 million Russell & Martha Wehrle Innovation Center is well underway and includes upgraded athletic facilities. 35% of UC undergraduates participate on a varsity team. The university offers 20 NCAA Division 2 sports competing in the Mountain East Conference.
University of Charleston is the 18th Appalachian College Association member to participate in SAGE Tuition Rewards.
