Guilford College

Established in 1837, Guilford College is a liberal arts school in Greensboro, N.C., providing tomorrow’s leaders with the innovative problem-solving skills, experiences and perspectives they need to create change in the world.

With an average class size of 14, our 1,200 traditional students thrive in an intimate, student-centered environment. You can choose from our 40-plus majors and 50-plus minors — or design your own course load with the help of your academic adviser.

You’ll be inspired to learn in our close-knit, supportive environment, where everyone is on a first-name basis. The book Colleges That Change Lives calls Guilford a “stimulating place where teachers care, where they expect a lot, and where they provide encouragement as well as the challenge to get young people to do things they had no idea they could do.”

Greensboro offers a vibrant cultural scene, plus diverse opportunities for service and abundant partners for internships. Our 350-acre campus includes meadows, a small lake, woods with trees more than 300 years old and a working farm. Produce grown on the Guilford College Farm — heirloom tomatoes, canary melons, okra and more — is served in our dining hall.

A year after graduation, 85 percent of Guilford students are employed full time or enrolled in graduate school —significantly better than the national average of 70 percent. Plus, the Career Development Center provides service to Guilfordians even after they graduate, giving alumni access to all services available to current students.
