The University of Redlands is a small, private liberal arts and sciences university in the heart of Southern California. Our friendly campus community, coupled with access to Downtown Los Angeles, the beaches of San Diego and the deserts of Joshua Tree National Park, situates students within an environment of adventure and inspiration.
Our campus is home to 2,600 undergraduate students representing 44 states and 44 countries of citizenship. In addition to traditional liberal arts majors such as Public Policy, Race and Ethnic Studies and Creative Writing, we offer impressive pre-professional programs such as Communicative Disorders, Global Business, Pre-Health/Pre-Med and Pre-Law. An interdisciplinary program called the Johnston Center for Integrative Studies allows students to design their own program of study. We offer 50 programs of study, with Business, Biology and Psychology among the most popular.
Our campus completes over 120,000 hours of community service every year; half of our students spend at least a semester traveling the world. We encourage experiential learning outside of the classroom and global perspectives. We aim to educate the hearts and minds of our students and to create a welcoming space for all, recognizing that the unique experiences and perspectives of all members of our community enhance our living and learning environments.
The Redlands 4-Year Promise guarantees that students will complete their education in 4 years. With our generous merit scholarships, the University nurtures incredibly successful liberal arts students who go on to competitive graduate programs such as Stanford Law School; to high-earning careers at companies including Boeing, Disney, Tesla and IBM; and, to life-changing service opportunities, such as the Fulbright Program.
