Elizabethtown College is an independent, residential liberal arts college located in historic Lancaster County in south central Pennsylvania. Founded in 1899, our “Educate for Service” motto provides the foundation for which our 75+ majors and minors are based. Elizabethtown provides a transformative educational experience that cultivates personal strengths and develops a passion for lifelong learning and purposeful work.

Our 12:1 student to faculty ratio allows for small class sizes, taught by experts in their respective fields and who are dedicated to helping our students succeed. 99% of our recent graduates have found full-time employment or are enrolled in a graduate school program less than one year after leaving "the Blue Jay nest", with the Brookings Institution reporting that mid-career earnings for our graduates are in the top 25% of salaries nationwide.

Situated on a 203-acre campus, the College is home to approximately 1,800 students from nearly 30 states and 40 foreign countries. With 23 NCAA Division III athletics teams and over 80 student clubs and organizations, we offer our students the opportunity to discover their passions beyond the classroom.

Elizabethtown College was recently ranked 23rd in the nation by the New York Times among private colleges and universities in graduating Pell grant recipients - and ranked in the National Liberal Arts Colleges Report by U.S. News & World as 14th in Pennsylvania and 115th nationally. 95% of students receive financial aid directly from the college. A number of recent graduates have been awarded Rhodes and Goldwater scholarships. Elizabethtown has graduated more Fulbright scholarship recipients than any other institution in Pennsylvania.
