Marymount Manhattan College

  • Region: Mid Atlantic
  • Campus Setting: City
  • Size: Small

From our beginnings, 85 years ago, as a two-year women’s college, Marymount Manhattan College has transformed significantly - and evolved to meet the changing needs of our students. But one thing has remained constant: Our commitment to providing higher education for diverse populations.

Coed and non-denominational, MMC has a longstanding commitment to first-generation students, who represent approximately 38% of an incoming class. A first-generation college student is a student whose parent(s) or guardian(s) has not earned a bachelor’s degree in the United States or abroad.

We want to see all of our students rise to their creative and intellectual potential, develop their own sense of personal growth, and chart their unique path to professional success. Equally important, we want them to be engaged members of their communities.

Located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, MMC is an urban, independent, liberal arts college. We are ranked as a top school for Broadway performers. Backstage, the most trusted publication for budding and established performers to find casting opportunities and gain career advice, lists Marymount Manhattan College as the # 2 school where TONY Award nominees go to get their start for promising futures on the Great White Way.

Acting, cinematography and video production, communications, dance, drama and theatre production, and performing arts are some of our most popular majors. We offer 30+ majors — B.A., B.S. and B.F.A. degrees — along with 40+ minors and pre-professional programs.

We’ll even give you a grant to visit us. Get more information at mmm.edu .
