Founded in 1845, Limestone College is an accredited, independent, coeducational four-year liberal arts institution located in Gaffney, South Carolina. The mission of Limestone is to educate students from diverse backgrounds in the liberal arts and selected professional disciplines.
Limestone is a Christian non-denominational college whose programs lead to the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Social Work, Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, and Master of Business Administration degrees. Limestone is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
In addition to its approximately 1,100 traditional Day program students, Limestone offers evening classroom and online degree programs through its Extended Campus program. Including over 2,000 Extended Campus students, Limestone is one of the state's largest regionally-accredited private colleges.
Limestone offers 54 majors and concentrations. The most popular Day program majors include Business Administration, Health Sciences, Sport Management, and Physical Education & Strength and Conditioning. The most popular Extended Campus majors include Business Administration, Social Work, and Computer Science.
Nearly 85 percent of Limestone’s full-time faculty members have their Ph.D. or other terminal degree. Limestone's 13:1 student/teacher ratio enables professors to serve as mentors both inside and outside of the classroom.
The Limestone College Athletics Department, offering 25 intercollegiate sports, is one of the largest in NCAA Division II.
