Ringling College of Art & Design Joins SAGE Scholars Tuition Rewards

Ringling College of Art & Design, where students run the entire broadcasting process, from start-to-finish, for on-campus TV network, has joined the SAGE Scholars Tuition Rewards program. Ringling is the 20th Florida private college to participate.

Founded in 1931, Ringling attracts 1,600 students from 54 countries, 45 states and four U.S. territories; 21% of students are international. The College offers 11 BFA majors and 2 bachelor’s degree programs; students apply to a specific major. Ringling has been ranked #1 in the world for 3D animation and as Florida’s top college for graphic design. More than 100 companies a year send recruiters to visit campus to meet with seniors.

“Creative confidence is forged in the crucible of deadlines, demands, and deliverables,” proclaims Dr. Larry R. Thompson, RCAD’s President. The College’s industry experience program (INDEX) allows students to build portfolios, strengthen resumes, and acquire confidence and familiarity with industry best practices.

Industry experiences are abundant through classroom experiential learning, volunteerism, internships, and as client-sponsored competitions. Facilities include the Design Center, Studio Labs and a Makerspace. The goal is experience developing creative solutions to business challenges, prior to graduation, by connecting students with leading brands and clients. 16 alumni have won Academy Awards; 23 alumni have won Addy Awards.

eSports is Ringling’s one varsity sport.
