Wesleyan College Joins SAGE Scholars Consortium

Georgia's Wesleyan College – the world's very first college chartered to grant degrees to women, in 1836 -- has joined the SAGE Scholars Private College & University Enrollment Consortium. Nine Georgia, 15 women's and 45 Methodist colleges now participate in the SAGE Tuition Rewards consortium.

Featured in The Princeton Review's "Best 380 Colleges," Wesleyan draws a global mix of women - about 700 in all - from across the U.S. and from more than 20 countries to its scenic, 200-acre lakeside campus in Macon, 90 minutes south of Atlanta.

Wesleyan's four-year plan, "From Here to Career," is designed to help students make connections between a liberal arts education and success in the workplace. The college's student-to-faculty ratio is 13:1; no classes are taught by teaching assistants. Students choose from 28 majors, including the bachelor of science in nursing, as well as 29 minors, self-designed interdisciplinary studies and eight pre-professional programs. Wesleyan offers a dual degree in engineering in conjunction with Auburn, Georgia Tech and Mercer.

Wesleyan hosts teams in five NCAA Division III sports - basketball, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball - as well as an award-winning Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Equestrian program.
