Centenary College of Louisiana Joins SAGE Scholars Tuition RewardsCentenary College of Louisiana, ranked #1 in the nation among baccalaureate colleges for sending students to study abroad, has joined the SAGE Scholars Tuition Rewards program. This year's "Centenary in Paris" experience that sends all first-year students to France to begin their college careers, is scheduled for August 5-to-13 and will include both the freshman and sophomore classes.

One of the South's top liberal arts colleges, Centenary was founded in 1825. The 550 students are drawn to the Shreveport campus from 22 states and 10 countries. Global engagement is a theme. Many students take advantage of the College's Passport Points program to study abroad for a second time, converting points earned at campus cultural events into funds to support international travel and study.

Centenary boasts a 9:1 student-faculty ratio, enabling unusually small classes and research projects alongside faculty members. The College offers 22 majors, with internships available for each major. Bbiology and psychology are the most popular majors. The Hurley School of Music has been accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music since 1934. Varsity athletes comprise 47% of the student body. Thanks to generous financial aid, students graduate with student debt that is 30% below the national average. The medical acceptance rate for graduates is 94%.

With the addition of Centenary, 44 Methodist-affiliated colleges now participate in the SAGE Consortium. Centenary is the 76th member college that's listed in The Princeton Review's 2021 edition of "The Best 386 Colleges".
