Saint Mary’s College (Notre Dame, IN) Joins Tuition Rewards

Oct. 13, 2008 – Saint Mary’s College (Notre Dame, IN), home to 1,605 female undergraduate students from 42 states, today became the 9th Indiana college to join Tuition Rewards. Sponsored by the Sisters of the Holy Cross, who founded the College in 1844, Saint Mary’s looks for young women "eager to grow, learn and shape the world."

Saint Mary’s suburban campus includes 75 acres of rolling hills, manicured lawns and historic buildings beside the Saint Joseph River. More than 60 clubs and organizations are available on the Saint Mary’s campus. Across the street, the University of Notre Dame expands the opportunities for students, who can attend Notre Dame classes and sporting events -- and participate in sports, clubs and organizations at Notre Dame.

More than 50 percent of Saint Mary’s students volunteer in the local community. More than 25 percent study abroad, primarily in Australia, Austria, France, India, Ireland, Italy, South Africa and Spain.

The most popular of Saint Mary’s 30 majors are business administration & management, elementary education and nursing. A joint major in engineering is also available by taking classes at Notre Dame. The Saint Mary’s faculty-to-student ratio is 1:11; a class size of 15 students is the average. Classes are taught by full professors, not teaching assistants.
