Champlain College Joins SAGE Scholars Tuition Rewards

By SAGE Scholars — December 2, 2021

Champlain College, home of the nationally-recognized Sen. Patrick Leahy Center for Digital Forensics & Cybersecurity, has become the 4th Vermont private college to join the SAGE Scholars Tuition Rewards program.

Champlain’s “upside-down” curriculum allows the 2,100 undergraduates to dive into their major on the first day of freshman-year classes. For cyber forensics and counter-terrorism majors, this means immediate hands-on experience performing actual digital investigations and threat mitigation. SC Magazine has cited Champlain as the nation’s best cybersecurity higher ed program. Niche ranks Champlain as one of the nation’s top 30 colleges in information technology. Other popular majors include accounting, business, game design and hospital management.

The Champlain campus, located on a hilltop in the innovation-rich city of Burlington, provides a spectacular view of Lake Champlain and, on a clear day, the distant Adirondack Mountains. The College’s Center for Communication & Creative Media is a state-of-the-art, 75,000-square-foot facility that features game and graphic design labs, a film and broadcast media production stage, sound studios, an art gallery, exhibit areas and a collaborative media hub.

Founded in 1878, Champlain has become a leader in career-focused education, allowing students to gain relevant experience through internships, field work and on-campus job opportunities. 90% of students complete at least one internship. 57% of students take advantage of study-abroad opportunities - often at the College’s campuses in Montreal, Canada and Dublin, Ireland.

Champlain is listed in “The Best 387 Colleges” by The Princeton Review. 31 New England private colleges now participate in the SAGE Enrollment Consortium.
