SEE WHY YOU BELONG AT CARTHAGE.

When it comes to college, everyone’s wish list is different. Maybe you want a college with small classes where professors become lifelong mentors, or maybe you want room to stretch your comfort zone. Maybe you have a plan and want to go where opportunities knock the loudest, or maybe you need someplace to find your purpose and connect the dots. Find all that and more at Carthage.

5 Reasons to Love Our Location

No. 1: The Lake

Our Great Lake is a built-in stress-reliever, research lab, and artist’s muse. “My favorite spot on campus would have to be the outdoor classroom,” says student Haley Aichholzer ’21. “There is something so beautiful and unique about learning outside and having Lake Michigan only a few feet away from you.”

No. 2: Kenosha

Kenosha is Wisconsin’s fourth-largest city, home to a vibrant arts scene, live music, outdoor festivals, shopping centers, farmers markets, museums, and more. Downtown Kenosha is located minutes from campus. Students can use historic streetcars and a robust city bus system to get around town. A downtown trolley and city bus both stop on campus multiple times a day.

No. 3: Chicago

Ready for a bigger scene? Jump on the Metra (the train station is a quick car, bus, or Uber ride from campus), and soon you’ll be in the middle of everything Chicago has to offer — from shopping on the Mag-Mile to world-class museums like the famed Shedd Aquarium and Art Institute of Chicago to your choice of MLB, NBA, NFL, and NHL games.

No. 4: Milwaukee

Take in a Milwaukee Bucks or Milwaukee Brewers game, try a new restaurant, or visit a museum — there are more than 15 in downtown Milwaukee alone. Milwaukee is also home to the world-famous Summerfest music festival along with concert venues that draw big-name musicians and comedians year-round.

No. 5: Jobs and Internship Opportunities

Thanks to our location in the thriving Milwaukee-Chicago corridor, Carthage students can pick from a long list of local and regional employers — north, south, and right here in our own backyard. Carthage’s exclusive Aspire Program connect students with such companies as Abbott Laboratories, Accenture Consulting, Jockey International, SC Johnson, Kraft Foods, and Snap-on Incorporated. Gain real-world experience while you’re still in school through internships, and find permanent employment in the endless opportunities nearby.
