A Historically Black Liberal Arts College accredited by SACSCOC, Stillman provides an exceptional HBCU experience. The student population of approximately 900 enjoys a nurturing environment and small class sizes (under 30 students/class) that enable degree completion for competitive entry into graduate and professional schools in medicine, law, communications, psychology, kinesiology, education, criminal justice, business, and STEM majors.

Students have opportunities for summer internships, apprenticeships, and co-ops at major research institutions and with multinational corporations. Stillman's partnership with the University of Alabama affords the ability to accelerate Masters' degree completion with 3 plus 2 programs. Student-athletes participate in Division 1 NAIA conference sports in Basketball, Baseball, Softball, and Track. Study-abroad opportunities are also available.

The Stillman College Choir tours the U.S. throughout the year and is in great demand for local performances with auditions available through Skype videoconferencing. Campus life includes show band, honor clubs, student organizations, social clubs, and the nine Pan-Hellenic Greek organizations.

About Stillman College

Stillman College, authorized by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in the United States in 1875, held its first classes in 1876 and was chartered as a legal corporation by the State of Alabama in 1895. At that time, the name was changed from Tuscaloosa Institute to Stillman Institute. The Institute was a concept initiated by the Reverend Dr. Charles Allen Stillman, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Tuscaloosa. The mandate for the Institution expanded over the years and it acquired its present campus tract of over 100 acres.
