Founded in 1883, we are located on a 42-acre site near the heart of Jackson, Mississippi's capital and its largest city. Belhaven is among only 36 U.S. universities nationally accredited in each of the four major arts — music, theatre, visual art and dance.

We offer a choice of 70 areas of study. Our science curriculum is distinctive; we are one of only two Christian universities recognized by the White House STEM Initiative. All programs are taught from a Christian worldview perspective and are guided by the mission to prepare students academically and spiritually.

The student-faculty ratio at Belhaven is an impressive 10:1, creating the opportunity for strong faculty-student interaction. 84% of our classes have fewer than 20 students. In addition to our 1,150 full-time undergraduates on-campus, we offer a very robust online educational presence.
