At the core of a Caldwell University education is our liberal arts curriculum, designed to guide students to develop critical thinking skills, appreciate diverse cultures, and acquire a moral and civic awareness. Students develop the whole self - knowledge, intellectual skills, sensitivities and creativity for a lifetime of growth.
Our charming campus is located in the picturesque town of Caldwell. It’s New Jersey’s best college town, recently voted the third best place to live in the state by New Jersey Monthly magazine. We’re 22 miles from New York City and not far from Newark’s Liberty International Airport. Our 2,200 undergrads hail from 40 countries. 98% of students receive financial aid.
Caldwell’s average class size is 15 students. Our most popular offerings include undergraduate degrees in business, education, nursing and psychology. Caldwell offers 36 undergraduate degrees and 31 graduate and certificate programs. We offer a doctoral program in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), a scientific discipline known to benefit children with autism spectrum disorders. Our state-of-the-art autism center is nationally renowned.
We embrace an 800-year Catholic Dominican heritage which seeks to bring about the message of truth and passion for God through the four pillars of prayer, study, community, and service. Our Campus Ministry provides an array of opportunities for students to reach out, including volunteer experiences at a soup kitchen, feeding the homeless in New York City, and rebuilding homes in Appalachia.
