Established in 1853, Mount Aloysius College (Cresson, PA) is a comprehensive liberal arts and science-based institution with a commitment to career-directed study. Rooted in Catholic tradition, Mount Aloysius is one of the nation's 16 Mercy-sponsored colleges.
At Mount Aloysius, our students look ahead. Leading up to the horizon are the challenges of today; lying beyond, the opportunities of tomorrow. Mount Aloysius prepares you for what lies beyond. What you learn here, you can take anywhere. The horizon may be as far as you can see, but it's really just your starting line.
All classes are taught by professors, not graduate assistants. The average class size is 18; MAC's student to faculty ratio is 14:1. The approximately 1,200 full-time undergraduates have a choice of more than 50 academic programs in health sciences and nursing, humanities, education, social sciences, natural and applied sciences, business administration and pre-professional study.
Approximately 40% of students live on MAC's safe, secure campus. The Mounties' 13 varsity sports teams compete in the NCAA Division III Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference. Student clubs and organizations include a student government association, academic clubs, a campus ministry, a student newspaper and special interest clubs such as sign language.
