Founded in 1897, Huntington combines the breadth of a comprehensive university with the close-knit environment of a smaller campus. Students can choose from more than 90 majors and minors across fields ranging from business, education, psychology, and social work to nursing, agriculture, animation, film, and the arts. A 13:1 student-to-faculty ratio helps make individualized attention a defining part of the Huntington experience.
Experiential learning is equally central to the university's approach. Huntington offers more than 300 learning and internship opportunities, giving students ways to put classroom knowledge into practice through internships, research, creative production, field experiences, and other hands-on work. Its location in northeast Indiana also places students within easy reach of Fort Wayne, the state's second-largest city and a hub for additional professional and cultural opportunities.
Huntington has developed particular strength in digital media arts. Students in animation, film, broadcast media, and related fields have earned national recognition through the Broadcast Education Association's Festival of Media Arts. The university's programs emphasize professional-level creative work, with students gaining experience using industry technology and, in film, opportunities to work alongside professional cast and crew.
The university is also entering the SAGE Scholars College Consortium with notable momentum. Huntington welcomed 308 new students to its Indiana campus for fall 2026, its largest incoming class in 16 years and an 8.8% increase over the previous year. The class includes 29 students entering Huntington's Honors Program, adding to a campus community centered on academic engagement, mentorship, and student involvement.
Rooted in a tradition of scholarship and service, Huntington has spent more than a century preparing students to connect their education with lives of purpose. Its combination of personal attention, academic breadth, experiential learning, and strong sense of community makes Huntington University a welcome addition to the SAGE Scholars College Consortium.
SAGE Scholars is proud to welcome Huntington University and looks forward to introducing Tuition Rewards families to the opportunities available to future Foresters.
