From Unity Environmental University

Unity College is a leader in sustainability science. With a solid foundation in liberal arts and scientific theory, students graduate with skills that will enable them to enact solutions to 21st century environmental issues. In 2011, The Princeton Review & U.S. Green Building Council named Unity one of America's "Greenest Colleges".

With the completion of the first Passive House-Certified student residence hall in America, Unity continues to lead the environmental movement among institutions of higher education. Located on 225 wooded acres of farmland in picturesque central Maine, Unity College utilizes the natural surroundings as experiential learning laboratories for its 585 students.

Students are taught by and collaborate with faculty at the leading edge of research and professional practice. By combining academic rigor with equally demanding field experiences, the college ensures that every undergraduate will extend their education beyond the limits of classroom walls. Students present research findings at national conferences, test local watersheds for arsenic, spend time with Maine’s wildlife biologists tagging and monitoring the black bear population and conduct marine species inventories in Costa Rica.

With 16 environmentally-focused majors, Unity College inspires graduates to live their passion while making a difference in the world.
