From Centenary College of Louisiana

Centenary College of Louisiana combines a dynamic liberal arts curriculum with real-world experience courses, internships, and unique study abroad opportunities. We're a community of diverse, original thinkers and doers.

During your four years at Centenary, you'll have chances to complete professional internships, conduct original research alongside faculty members, and share additional global learning experiences with your friends and professors.

Centenary ranks #1 in the nation among baccalaureate colleges for sending students to study abroad, beginning with the "Centenary in Paris" program that sends all first-year students to France to begin their college careers. Many students take advantage of the College's Passport Points program to study abroad for a second time, converting points earned at campus cultural events into funds to support international travel and study.

Centenary offers more than 60 student clubs and organizations, NCAA Division III athletics, cultural events, lectures, service projects, leadership programs, and activities on a beautiful campus that students describe as "welcoming and spirited."

94% of Centenary students who apply to medical school are accepted, along with 80% of those who apply to law school. Regardless of their chosen field, Centenary graduates draw on their superior preparation - and grow bold, thoughtful, confident, and kind.

Neighborhood

Located in Shreveport's historic Catahoula neighborhood, Centenary College sits on a tree-lined boulevard with easy access to local dining, shopping, and entertainment options along nearby Texas Street and the downtown riverfront district. The campus and surrounding area offer a mix of local restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques within walking distance, creating an engaging environment for students seeking both academic focus and social opportunities. The neighborhood provides a welcoming, residential feel while remaining close enough to Shreveport's cultural attractions and entertainment venues for weekend exploration.
