Assumption University Joins SAGE Scholars Tuition Rewards

By SAGE Scholars — September 13, 2022

Assumption University, which in 2013 opened a second campus — in Rome, Italy — to offer a distinctive study-abroad experience, has become the 98th Catholic college to join the SAGE Scholars Tuition Rewards program. 32 New England institutions now participate in the SAGE Consortium of private colleges.

Assumption’s Rome campus, within walking distance of St. Peter’s Basilica, is located in a residential neighborhood on the property of the Augustinians of the Assumption, the University’s founding order. Students receive free public transportation to explore Rome, with group excursions to Pompeii, Florence and elsewhere.

Assumption’s 185-acre main campus, in Worcester, Massachusetts’ second largest city, is home to 2,000 undergraduates who can choose from 38 majors and 50 minors. Dual-degree programs encourage students to continue toward graduate degrees in Applied Behavior Analysis, Business/MBA (management, healthcare management, or accounting), Clinical Counseling Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, School Counseling and Special Education. A 12-to-1 student-faculty ratio ensures small classes.

A recently-concluded fund-raising campaign enabled construction of a new academic center and a health sciences center. Six years after graduation, alumni earnings are $22,000 above the national average. The Hounds compete in 24 varsity sports.

Assumption is ranked as one of the “Best 388 Colleges” by The Princeton Review and as a “Best Value College” by Money Magazine.
