Vermont College of Fine Arts Joins SAGE Prime
Founded in 2008, VCFA is a private institution devoted exclusively to low-residency Master of Fine Arts programs in six creative disciplines: Film, Graphic Design, Music Composition, Visual Art, Writing, and Writing for Children and Young Adults. Students pursue their degrees through intensive nine-day residencies followed by individualized, one-on-one faculty mentorship, a model designed for working artists and writers who want to deepen their practice without stepping away from their lives and communities. VCFA is an affiliate of the California Institute of the Arts and hosts its residencies on the CalArts campus.
In its first decade of operation, VCFA launched six new graduate programs and established itself as one of the top graduate fine arts institutions in the nation. Graphic Design USA recognized VCFA's MFA in Graphic Design as a 2025 top design school and program. VCFA recently announced a tuition freeze for the 2026-2027 academic year, reflecting its commitment to keeping graduate arts education accessible. As the only college devoted exclusively to graduate fine arts education, VCFA offers artists and writers a transformative and progressive educational experience.
Through SAGE Prime, eligible SAGE Scholars account holders can claim a guaranteed minimum 10% discount on VCFA's MFA programs.
